Meet the Bodyscapes Fitness Team: Southborough / Brookline

Brookline:

Michael C. Walsh – Brookline Manager, MS, CSCS

While attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell he earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Nutrition. He is certified nationally by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Mike earned his Master’s degree in Applied Anatomy and Physiology at Boston University in 2003. His training experiences range from cardiac rehabilitation to college athletes to health conscious adults. Before becoming Manager of BodyScapes Fitness Brookline, he was Assistant Manager in the Wellesley One2Onebodyscapes personal training studio.

Michael K. Anderson – Personal Trainer

Mike is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  He is currently enrolled in the Exercise and Health Science program at the University of Massachusetts Boston, with a concentration in Fitness Instruction and Management.  As an athlete his entire life, Mike has always been dedicated to health and hopes he can share that enjoyment with you.

Jessica Cummings – Personal Trainer

Jess is a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  She focuses on building self confidence and positive relationships. Jess graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. At UMass she was captain of the women’s basketball team and led her team in scoring all four years. After graduating from college, Jess spent two years doing community service as a member of Americorps. Having a passion for health and being involved with sports and exercise her entire life, she decided to pursue a career in fitness. In 2007, she graduated from the Exercise Science/ Personal Training certification program at Quincy College and the South Shore YMCA. Jess has also run the Boston Marathon and understands the training and commitment required to complete such a physical feat. Jess listens to her clients and creates programs that will bring them closer to their fitness goals and feel better about their overall health and well-being.

Dan Mandell, CSCS – Personal Trainer

Dan holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology from Bridgewater State College, where he played football and baseball. Dan is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Prior to working at Bodyscapes Fitness, Dan has worked as a strength & conditioning coach with the Chicago Cubs organization and has worked at the Bodyscapes One2One personal training studio in Lexington, MA. Dan has experience working with people of all ages and fitness levels, specializing in working with athletes and people in older populations.

Eric McCaslin – Personal Trainer

Eric is a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  Eric graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Logistics.  Eric's love for fitness and exercise started at a young age, while training for football or getting ready to compete in one of the state of Maine's Power Lifting competitions.  After college Eric kept his love of fitness and sports in the business world working for Decathlon Sports, a Global manufacturer and retail source for sporting goods.  Eric likes to keep his training sessions fun and exciting for his clients.  He also believes that a strong core and proper form are key to getting the most out of your workouts.

 

Southborough:

Jessica Poplawski – Manager, Fitness Class Director

Jessica graduated from Plymouth State University with a B.S. in Physical Education and a double minor in Health and Business Administration. She holds a certification through ACE (American Council of Exercise) as a Personal Trainer and AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) as a Group Exercise Instructor. She has worked for the Recreation Department at Plymouth State as a Group Exercise and Recreation Program Assistant, and a Group Exercise Instructor. 

John Passemato –Assistant Manager, Personal Trainer

John graduated from Plymouth State University in 2003 with a BS in Physical Education and a minor in Health. While attending PSU, John became a certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and developed and managed the FlexRx personal training program. Prior to Bodyscapes Fitness, he worked as a strength and condition coach for Mike Boyle’s gymnasium for 3 years. John is a very dedicated and enthusiastic trainer with a strong, influential method of instruction and has worked with clients of all ages and ability levels.

Elizabeth Miller – Personal Trainer

Elizabeth graduated from Fitchburg State College with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science, along with a minor in Business Administration. Elizabeth is certified as a personal trainer by the American Counsel on Exercise (ACE). Previous to working at One2OneBodyScapes, Elizabeth completed an internship at BodyScapes Fitness in Southborough, MA. She is very passionate about helping others adapt a healthier lifestyle through exercise that emphasizes cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility training. Through reading and courses, Elizabeth stays up to date on new research and developments in the field in order to always add new and exciting exercises to her clients programs. Being physically active is a lifelong dedication that can be fun and enjoyable, and Elizabeth tries to emphasize that with each client..

Christopher Leroux – Personal Trainer

Chris received his Bachelors in business management from the University of Massachusetts and his Masters in exercise physiology from the University of Florida. Chris has been assisting clients in achieving their health and fitness goals for over 7 years and knows what it takes to lose weight and get in shape. He once lost 50 pounds in less than a year. Chris aims to educate as well as train his clients teaching them that a consistent, well balanced approach encompassing good nutrition, cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and flexibility are all important in achieving success. In his free time, Chris enjoys trying to be active outside of the gym and spending time with his two sons.
